American Lesion: Released in 1997 was Graffin’s debut solo album that didn’t revolve around punk rock music. Instead straying to more folk, alternative country, and ballad songs with personal lyrics reflecting on Greg’s life at the time. On Track 6 “Cease” was originally on Bad Religion’s 9th album The Gray Race, which was featured on American Lesion’s version with a more ballad approach.
Cold As The Clay: Released in 2006, the album embraces the folk, country, and Americana music that Greg Graffin loves. While most of the tracks on the album are Greg's, Tracks 2 and 4 (Omie Wise and Little Sadie) are covers of traditional folk ballads.
Millport: Released in 2017, the album is an absolute love letter to old fashion country. In my opinion, one of the most authentic country albums of modern if you want to compare the type of country you hear on the radio. Greg Graffin chose to make Millport an honest country album with members of Social Distortion aiding in the production of this album. Those who helped are Jonny Wickersham (Jonny Two Bags), Brent Harding, and David Hidalgo Jr.
PUNK-O-RAMA
Punk-O-Rama is a series of compilation albums released from Epitaph Records throughout 1994-2005. It was one of the best ways to discover bands at the time and featured many singles and B-sides from Bad Religion’s discography that couldn't be easily accessed anywhere else. Who We Are and Shattered Faith are both singles that appear on Punk-O-Rama 8, and one track in particular News From The Front was only available as a bonus track on European and Japanese released CDs of Stranger Than Fiction, which came out in 1994. That song did not reach American audiences until 2005 when Punk-O-Rama 10 released. It took American audiences 11 years to listen to News From The Front.
Interestingly out of all of the 10 volumes Bad Religion wasn’t in Punk-O-Rama 5 at all, and only Pennywise and Rancid were in every installment. Over time the compilation album grew diverse ranging from genres outside of punk rock such as indie rock, emo, screamo, and metalcore.
